Main colony has been growing for many years now.  Grows into plates and needs high intensity light. In a reef tank, this can be placed in lower areas of the aquarium and do just fine.  

SPONGES SHOULD NEVER BE EXPOSED TO AIR. AIR BURNS HOLES IN THEM. When unpacking, undo the bag in the aquarium so the sponge isn't exposed to air.
